TechFire 225, a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team based out of York, PA, had to look no further than Hanover, PA to find a trusted partner in Precision Cut Industries. TechFire machines many robotics parts over their 6-week build season each year and looks to local sponsors to assist with certain projects. Precision Cut Industries based in Hanover, PA and Beltsville, MD is a high-tech contract manufacturer with a core competency in laser cutting who works across multiple markets from agriculture and automotive to gaming and aerospace. When it came to cutting thick aluminum stock, Precision Cut Industries readily stepped up to assist with the task. TechFire prides itself on keeping it local and working with York/Hanover area businesses to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) recognition to the region. The majority of high school students that participate on the team will go on to work in the STEM field, including at manufacturing and fabrication companies such as Precision Cut Industries.
With PCI’s’ assistance, TechFire 225 hopes to achieve continued success this season and return to the World Championships in Detroit in April with a PCI logo proudly displayed on their high quality, locally fabricated robot.
