Precision Cut Industries Adds Its Fifth Press Brake To Increase Speed With Smaller Components

Hanover, PA – March 2012 – Precision Cut Industries added its fifth press brake, a new Trumpf TruBend 7036. PCI currently supports a customer making repetitive weldments that PCI robotically welds in-house. Prior to being welded, components are laser cut and formed in small kits. The new ergonomic, 40-ton brake provides high speed & acceleration to PCI when bending components smaller than 40” in length. The new brake will essentially depend on the speed of the operator to maintain its efficiency.

The TruBend 7036 offers a level of variety to PCI’s suite of forming capabilities. PCI currently has three (3) Trumpf brakes up to 130-ton capacity, along with one (1) Cincinnati Brake offering up to 170-tons of capacity. First Shift Bend Supervisor, Al Martin, has seen the speed and efficiency benefits with the new 7036 brake. “All of PCI’s Trumpf brakes have a niche in our daily production, however, the TruBend 7036 has its clear advantages with speed and efficiency…requiring a much smaller footprint.” To add to the efficiencies just from the machine alone, PCI strategically placed the brake in close proximity to the robotic weld cells – gaining flow efficiencies.

PCI plans on scheduling more jobs to the new 7036 brake. The company is expecting to gain efficiencies and increased throughput to offset the 7036’s brake’s growing job queue. Martin believes the throughput will speak for itself very quickly.
