PCI has in-house paint capabilities with a fully enclosed wet paint booth for steel, aluminum and other metal components – commercial and military products. Commercially, PCI efficiently processes small or larger batches of components using spraying with paint guns to a particular specification. On the military applications they use chemical resistant painting – ACO and CARC painting.
Silk Screening and Product Marking
PCI’s Beltsville Division has a dedicated silk-screening operation. This provides stenciling and port labeling, which indicates the port number of the component for the customer. Through the silk-screening process, logos are placed on the painted surface, and/or connector locations. The customer file is taken from the DXF file which is then transformed into a negative. An artwork is then made from that negative for silk-screening; which is then burned into the material for silk-screening.
